John G. Shedd Oceanarium - Chicago, IL
Illinois Bronze Works furnished and installed the exterior glazed curtainwall, ornamental aluminum column covers and spandrel panels for a total system enclosure to the Oceanarium for the John G. Shedd Aquarium.
Monroe Building - Bronze Entrance
Extruded bronze facing sections and entrance fabricated by Illinois Bronze Works in 1960. This well mainteained high traffic entrance is still in use today.
Bronze Entrance - 33 N. LaSalle Street, Chicago, IL
Monumental historically replicated bronze castings provide a stunning effect for the recreation of this original 1920's entrance. Illinois Bronze Works worked closely with the architects and foundry artisans to recreate cast bronze ornamental features from archival photos of the original entrance. Once cast and polished, all pieces were shop assembled into the engineered framing system used for field installation.
Chagall Canopy - Bank One Plaza - Chicago, IL
Chicago's Bank One Plaza has long been a venue for display of the work of Illinois Bronze Works. Pictured is the glazed canopy enclosure over the exquisite mosaic tile creation of renowned artist, Marc Chagall. Illinois Bronze Works worked with its sister company, MTH Industries' highly skilled glaziers, to install the Pilington Planar Systemsuspended fritted glass canopy over the art work. Bronze railings and base steel canopy support plates complemented the glass work. Viewed in the distance is the 1st National Bank of Chicago's original cast bronze clock face, which was reconstructed as a four-sided unit by Illinois Bronze Works' craftsmen in the 1970's and erected onto a granite base. Bronze entrance doors and panel work is also located throughout the upper and lower levels of the Plaza.
Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago - Custom Railings
Original bronze railings were rebuilt to upgrade to current standards with the introduction of new polished cast bronze posts and polished Monel infill rails. The bronze rails tied into a new glass guardrail system around the United Air Lines 727 exhibit.
Detroit Symphony Orchestra
Illinois Bronze Works with it’s sister company MTH Industries was awarded the contract to provide recreations of historical metalwork for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Expansion / Renovation Project. Included in the work was the recreation of the original decorative entrance Marquise. The original cast iron structure was taken down and disposed of in 1939. With the aide of archival photographs and original architectural drawings we were able to recreate the original designs in painted cast aluminum working hand in hand with A.J. Diamond, Donald Schmitt and Company Architects of Toronto and General Contractor George W. Auch Company of Pontiac, MI. In addition to the Marquise and storefront cornice castings, IBW / MTH also recreated cast aluminum versions of original plaster “Griffen” air diffuser grilles for the performance hall ceiling.

This curtainwall is fabricated with 3/8" thick steel plates and integral thermal extruded aluminum window wall system. This project, combined with the talents of Illinois Bronze Works and its sister company, MTH Industries, for fabrication glazing and erection.
Lobby Directory - 120 S. LaSalle St., Chicago, IL
The stunning recreation of the historic 1920's lobby was highlighted by the installation of this custom building directory. It was fabricated using original historic casting and new bronze materials.
Lower Facade Treatment
Illinois Bronze Works and MTH Industries combined resources to produce anupdated entry and lower facade treatment for this project on Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL. Featured is a structural glass entry vault using the Pilkington Planar System and stainless steel panels, balanced doors and glazed storefronts.
